Frequently Asked Questions

What's the catch?

I love this question because it means the client understands the value of managed print services and can't believe they can employ out-sourced management yet reduce costs. The fact is there is not a catch. Sure we make money on the project; however, our funding is derived from the savings we create and the savings is sufficient enough that we can deliver back a savings to our client in the range of 10% to 30%.

What happens if our printer breaks?

Simple, we fix it! We understand print output drives business process and with our inventory of supplies and parts we can restore a down printer the same day.  As a PrintSaver™ client, your call takes priority over time and material service calls.  Be assured, we'll restore your printer within eight (8) business hours or we'll replace it.

What if I'm working over the weekend and I'm concerned about toner levels?

This is a common occurrence. We'll gladly provide supplies in advance when the situation warrants.

I'm concerned about the security of the network. Do we really need to load an unknown software program on our server?

The software monitor communicates to an external data collection server using 128-bit SSL encoded data. This is the same security used by credit card companies when processing occurs on the Internet.  It is a safe medium.  Also, the data is outbound only and only information contained in the printer’s MIB (Management Information Block) is transferred.  The MIB contains information about the device like, page counts and supply levels.

Will the monitor software add to my network traffic and server load?

No.  The software scans every two hours for known devices and four hours for new devices. The data transfer on the device’s MIB is less than 800 bytes of data.

Our company has a technical staff and we have the manpower and capability to self manage our print fleet.

O.K. it's not a question, but we hear the statement often.  I'm sure your company is self-sufficient in some cases; however, you’re not a printer concentric company (we would not be talking with you otherwise) and your company doesn't have the skill set to handle multi-vendor print environments.  Your company most likely does not employ manufacturer certified technicians, nor does your company maintain a relationship with multiple printer vendors, nor do you maintain a quarter million dollar inventory of printer parts and supplies.  Our business is all about printers and that’s all we do. We are experts in our field and equipped to support any printer issue.
